Pros

They did give free samples to employees

Cons

I am writing this review based on my experience as a long-time employee of Cosmoprof. While I found satisfaction in helping customers and working with many talented individuals at the store level, my overall experienced with the company was overshadowed by poor treatment from upper management. The leadership culture at Cosmoprof fosters a toxic work environment, where employees are often undervalued and ignored. Constructive feedback is frequently dismissed and there is little to no accountability for those in senior positions. Rather than supporting their team, upper management tends to operate with a top-down, dismissive approach that discouraged collaboration and open communication. Compensation is another major issue. The pay is uncompetitive especially considering the expectations placed on employees and the demands of the job. Cost of living raises are rare, regardless of performance or tenure. Many dedicated employees are left feeling overworked and underappreciated. In summary, Cosmoprof has significant issues with how it treats it workforce, especially when it comes to leadership and employee well-being. Until there is a shift in how upper management values and supports it people, I cannot recommend this company as a healthy or rewarding place to work.

Pros

The customers were the only bright spot — working with licensed professionals and helping them find what they need was genuinely rewarding. • Discounts and product education opportunities were a nice bonus. • Other store managers were kind and helpful — it’s just a shame they were just as overworked.

Cons

There is zero training for new managers — you’re expected to figure it all out on your own while meeting impossible expectations. • If you ask questions, voice concerns, or challenge unfair practices, you’re quickly labeled as “difficult” and pushed aside. • The company plays blatant favorites — if you’re not one of the brown-nosers or corporate darlings, you’ll be alienated, ignored, or quietly edged out. • Constant budget cuts make running the store feel impossible. Many managers use their own money just to keep things functioning. • No work/life balance. You’re expected to sacrifice your mental health and personal time just to keep your head above water. • Corporate communication is poor, and decisions are made without input from the people actually running the stores.
