Thank you for taking the time to write a review; we are pleased to learn that you enjoyed working on rewarding projects and with your colleagues/managers, amongst other factors. We are however saddened and surprised to read that you felt as though the behaviour of some managers amounted to bullying; we also regret that you did not raise this with us during your employment or during your exit interview. We have had no reports of bullying in the past and would take any allegations of this very seriously; we are particularly proud of the supportive, friendly and collaborative working environment we have at Costello Medical. Please note that career progression is not dependent on the company’s resources or needs. For both internal promotion rounds, held in April and October of every year, there is no set quota for the number of roles available. Therefore, individuals are promoted to more senior roles once they have demonstrated their capability for the role and following a successful interview. This is an approach we remain passionate about and is aligned with our key value of Talent and Opportunity. We have also recently conducted a remuneration review for all senior roles at the company which has seen increases to salaries effective from October 2020, and the continuous review of our rewards package remains one of our highest priorities.

Pros

Extremely friendly coworkers and supportive management Great opportunities for progression Opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects - employees are not limited to projects in their divisions only Funded training opportunities, driven by your interests Lots of wellbeing initiatives, HR and senior management make a huge (and sincere) effort to maximise employee satisfaction with ideas driven by feedback from employees Collaborative environment, you can be working with several project teams simultaneously There is no hierarchal divide, people of varying seniority sit next to each other and socialise together Great socials funded by the company The company makes a generous contribution towards travel costs for employees who wish to work in the Singapore office for a short period

Cons

The hours can be long, especially around external deadlines, but I imagine this is true of most consultancy work Workload and timeline expectations can vary between project managers As a smaller company the pay is probably slightly below that of some larger competitors

Thank you for your review. It seems that you value a great many positives about working for Costello Medical and we are pleased to read your endorsement! We are aware that colleagues can work additional hours and as you rightly point out this can be particularly the case when working up to a deadline. We strive to ensure that this isn’t the norm and that on the whole colleagues enjoy a positive work-life balance. We will continue to engage with all colleagues on a wide range of topics impacting all who work here. Thank you in advance for your participation in these.

Friendly but busy

Pros

Wide range of projects, including pro bono and public health projects for giving back to the society. Increasing flexibility in ways of working to suit individuals.

Cons

Usually busy with high project load. Fast pace of growth means that sometime responsibility has to be delegated to junior members prematurely.
