Pros

The residents are wonderful and some co-workers can be great friends

Cons

As a PCA ( Personal Care Associate) you are over worked and way under paid. Unless your management you won't get 80 hours, you have to work yourself to death to get close it. The title Personal Care Associate is a lie. Your a house keeper, a mantenace man, a nurse, a bus boy and everything else in between. The nursing staff does not tell you when a resident is infected with MRSA or anything else that may be contagious and the list goes on. Unless you like being worked like a slave I would not recommend a PCA position.

Working with our elders can be a demanding job and is, in our opinion, one of the most important vocations. Every co-worker goes above and beyond to meet the needs of residents, regardless of job position or title. Best of luck to you.

Pros

Co-workers are generally nice, but can get a bit cliquey. Residents vary greatly

Cons

Have to work every other weekend, which can be a bummer. Repetitive work, not very exciting

Thank you for sharing your experience. Our residents and co-workers truly care about each other. Given our business is 24/7, 365 days a year, every other weekend schedules are necessary, but we hope co-workers find the work rewarding in every role as well as the benefits and perks like your birthday as a paid holiday and career paths. Thank you for what you contributed while on our team, and we hope you are doing well in your new endeavor.

Thank you for your positive comments. Our teams genuinely care about our residents and each other. While senior living typically is a very conservative industry, we pride ourselves on thinking innovatively and resourcefully both in resident care and co-worker offerings and encouraging ideas and input from our team as they have direct insight and knowledge of the day-to-day and thus better ways to deliver quality customer service. Thank you for what you do for our team and residents. We hope you will offer new and better ways to care!
