Pros

Nothing is good over there!

Cons

They sell you the shadow and orientation you would think they care. Overwork caregivers, especially night shift. They make you do the whole facility laundry, sweep floors, set tables, and take care of 18+ residents who always call at night. Management always favoring some co workers and they never try to replace call outs. you get easily get in trouble trying to do well what others left behind.

The only way we are able to deliver the quality and compassionate care our residents deserve is because our teams on every shift in every role support each other. The roles for each shift are discussed in the interview, shadow and orientation so co-workers are aware of what to expect and what is expected of them before Day 1. And when we have call-offs (sickness, family emergencies, etc.), the team again pulls together with either bringing in PRN or available co-workers or are resourceful in task-sharing. There is no tolerance for bullying or team members not doing their part because then we can't do what our residents expect and need us to do. Proof of our strong team work is the long tenure of our co-workers and the high marks in our anonymous co-worker and customer surveys. If you feel otherwise, please be sure you discuss your concerns directly with your supervisor, Campus Executive Director, Jamie Smith or Vice President of Operations, Crystal Friend.

As you are aware, there is more to this situation than you are sharing. Expectations are clearly outlined in our job descriptions which you read at time of application and hire. All caregivers are required to attend an intensive onboarding program and complete classes on various care needs and solutions. Simply put, your allegations are false. In actuality: 1. Odor. The only odors in our buildings are the aromatherapy scents used in various areas, smells of delicious foods cooking for our residents, aromas of art supplies as residents make crafts and paint masterpieces and cleaning products used to maintain clean, safe buildings. If there is an accident that causes a bad smell, it is promptly cleaned and disinfected. 2. Cleanliness: Residents rooms are cleaned by our excellent housekeeping staff at least once every week as are common areas, kitchens, bathrooms, etc. Members of our Home Office are regularly on campus and have not noted any of the points you allege. 3. Lifting requirement. We do NOT lift residents. If there is a fall or another situation in which a resident requires assistance, there are procedures in place to lift the individual safely using more than one co-worker if needed. 4. Pink eye: This is false. No one in our building has pink eye. 5. Showers: All residents receive showers and are able to transfer to the shower. Your claim is false. 6. Staffing. Working with our elders is very challenging work and sometimes people just don't make a good fit. For those with a caring attitude and kind heart, getting to know our seniors can be very rewarding. Our residents deserve the best care, and we expect our co-workers to provide that, regardless of that resident's mood or attitude. In the rare instance a resident becomes physically combative, a co-worker is expected to report concerns to supervisors. We do not tolerate physical harassments from co-workers or residents. 7. State inspection: Country Meadows is very proud of our South Hills team whose hard work is validated by positive inspection results from the state. Our inspection records can be reviewed on the Commonwealth's website. Your allegations we are paying off inspectors is ludicrous and will be shared with the State. We are very proud of our South Hills team. Perhaps you should return to your roofing position. Good luck.

Thank you for your service and for appreciating our awesome residents. Country Meadows recently instituted a wage increase for our campus teams to help ensure we are more competitive among companies not only in our industry, but outside as well. Our HR team works hard to hire the right people, and our campuses strive to staff higher than required by the Commonwealth. Best of luck to you.
