      Good company to work for, good pay and benefits but hard to advance.

      Pros

      Pay and benefits are good. Company vehicle is provided as a technician and routes are generally within your home area. Four day work week is ok but impossible to change shifts.

      Cons

      Almost impossible to advance or move within the company, they play favorites! It's definitely the good Ol' boy network. It's becoming very hard to keep up with the expectations, it's all about the numbers and the personality has been sucked right out of becoming a technician!

      Cox provides adequate training. If you work for one of the good managers they will help you grow and learn within the organization. ...

      Cons

      Cox Communications used to be a great place to work....a family like atmosphere. Unfortunately as the initial managers and directors began to retire most of the newer management was hired in as a "who you know" and not based on skill or experience...Most managers have that micro manage mentality. If they don't like you, you can best just pack your bags because they will make your work life horrible and then terminate you without a second thought...because they can. So sad.

      The environment has changed over the years as senior leaders look to squeeze all of the juice from the company fruit. Words are used to encourage, however future growth, the customer and product development suffer as the budget wallet tightens.
