A Company with many changes

Pros

The company has amazing talent and management is continually looking for ways to better our systems and processes. If you like changes, this is the place to be. In my eight years with the company, I've seen a small business transform into an industry leader. I have a strong sense of pride in what we do.

Cons

With so many changes, there have been growing pains. Systems that have been stretched passed their limit has been a challenge. Work-loads are quite intense; but, with improvement in our systems and our continuous improvement initiatives, I have faith this will improve.

Pros

I've been at Crane Currency for almost two years. If you are looking for a forward-thinking, fast paced work environment, then this is the place for you. There is a never a lack of high profile projects to work on, contribute to, or be a part of. I've worked at many different companies in my career, and the employees at Crane are very dedicated to the company and very family oriented. There's a good work-life balance.

Cons

Historically a locally family run business, and a lot of employees have struggled with the changing environment to become a global company. Location of Dalton, MA is just not desirable for some people who are used to living/working in or near a big city. Sometimes there is a rush to get projects done.

Pros

Crane Currency has an impressive history and an even brighter future. Unique blend of high tech and centuries old craftsmanship. Dedicated and highly motivated workforce. Senior management is focused, intuitive, incredibly smart, and best of all very accessible to all levels of employees. When I first arrived at Crane three years ago I had some trepidation about how successful I'd be working in a for-profit company, since I'd worked for not-for-profits most of my career. However, my manager and peers helped me learn the currency business and how best to apply the skills I brought with me. Crane Currency is incredibly well run, and it's a privilege to work at such a great company. This is the best job I've had in my 30+ years in the workforce.

Cons

Some growing pains associated with taking what was essentially a family run business and turning it into a world class company competing on a global scale. Merging cultures and viewing the company as an integrated business, rather than standalone business units, is at times difficult--sometimes it seems as if it's one step forward and two steps back.
