Pros

Interesting programs and talented people at the worker bee level.

Cons

There have been too many reviews to count that talk about the disheartening experiences of women in the Creative space and the company fights hard to have them taken down and to hunt down the people the write them. Executive leadership turns a blind eye to the misogynistic environment and even joins in on occasion so the prospect of it getting better is relatively slim. While not yet rapey, it is certainly a cringy, uncomfortable environment for females. I agree with most that HR is certainly part of the issue, in that they are powerless, as they ultimately answer up to the source of the problems. This combined with their known indiscretion is why so many have stated that there's no safe mechanism for reporting or harassment and/or retaliation. All said, HR wouldn't be able to help even if they wanted to. On the program side there regular coverups and scandals that come back to the same issues. Many of which call into question organizational ethics and why those at HQ who have known about what's been happening to staff in the field aren't terminated. I was lucky to have had several colleagues warn me to steer clear of certain people and that helped but the overall environment is best suited for short-term development with most staff serving their time and then moving on to a better established company with the proper protections and policies in place.

Does Not Care About Their Employees

Pros

Good location on the red line.

Cons

I received stellar employee evaluations every year I worked there. However, out of the blue and with no notice, they dismissed me. I was not project-based staff so it's not like funding ran out. I was never given a full justification as to why they dismissed me. I never knew I was on the chopping block and they did not give me time to state my case or take corrective action.

Pros

Nice location on Red Line at DC/MD border Some good and pleasant people

Cons

More of a clique/favorites-driven organization than others in same industry. Backstabbing is common, mostly led by a few people in senior positions. As others state, it's secretive, and HR--such as it is--is inadequate at best. Seems that certain people stay in their positions b/c they're close to The Family. Very rigid re remote work--and they don't close for blizzards. People who were happy had supervisors that took care of them (did not pay attention to the weird and unproductive rules). Top-heavy in the extreme.
