Pros

There are a lot of great problems to solve.

Cons

Leadership is extremely immature and leaders are more intent on building and maintaining individual kingdoms. Absolutely inability to work together across teams and solve problems for Cruise at the long term. They treat people as expendable, and are first rate liars who will sell you the stars.. but will not allow you to propose or make actual change. It's an old boy's club with one engineering leader having a really loud voice - very unfortunate and unreasonable!

Pros

Positive focus on work/life balance Average tech perks: good benefits / free food

Cons

Hyper growth and push to hit market quickly has created an environment with high turnover and continual re-orgs. Nothing is consistent. New management comes in and gives people assignments that purposely set them up to fail so they can lay them off and hire someone else. Many people who have been hired are doing a completely different role from what they were originally hired to do. This is caused by the continuous re-orgs and non-consistency within departments. Heavy drinking culture makes it feel like college frat life. There's been multiple instances where people are hired to run a department but are just using that position to get into Cruise so they can eventually move into their ideal role. This leads to teams being forced on a roller coaster ride of management changes and org changes.
