Pros

There are benefit plans which will only be worth it after you have worked up to full-time, which takes a lot of time and a lot of dedication.

Cons

I am 29 years old and have had many, many jobs. I taught dance many years and am certified in yoga. I have an extensive movement practice. I had hoped this job would be relevant to my experiences. It wasn’t. I believe this was the worst overall experience with a job I have ever had. From first interview until I quit, there were 4 months. When I quit I still was making less money than I made 9 years ago. That was with giving the job my absolute all. I have had many jobs in many fields, I’ve had my own small business, and still, I see absolutely no reason why this experience would make it so impossible to make money while preserving ones health and sanity. There was nothing sane or healthy about this job. Overall, a waste of my time and energies. Could be useful to someone as a first job before or during college.

Pros

Wonderful customers at Crunch. No judgments philosophy where everyone is comfortable. Good support from management and front desk employees.

Cons

No raises for group instructors ever. Minimum wage has increased year after year for front desk employees, but group instructors never get any raises. Not even one thank you from the franchise owner. We bring in customers and keep them happy, but are completely taken for granted. I have taught at 4 different gyms for this same franchise group to help cover classes and sometimes drive 45 minutes each way just to help. We are all expected to help out the team, but not one thank you ever, even when our low class rate wages after the time we spend planning the classes and driving for a one-hour class ends up being about $5/hour.

Pros

Members are friendly, free membership. I enjoyed my job and the people I worked with (with the exception of management).

Cons

Quotas are completely unrealistic and unattainable. Management only cares about numbers and making quotas. They want you to sell $44 thirty minute training sessions to people buying $12 monthly memberships, as that is what they can afford. Management does not want to listen to any excuses (this club is based in a lower-middle class area). They don't care.
