Sexism runs deep

Pros

Flexible hours, decent clientele, incentivizes continuing education

Cons

The management is fraught with male chauvinism. I had a manager tell me that he could not give me clients my own age (20s women) because they would not want an butt like mine! Meanwhile, about 50% of my clients were...you guessed it: women close to my age! This manager repeatedly tried to steal my sales for example: he told me because I was in the middle of a session when a prospective client came in to purchase package to work with me that he would be splitting the commission with me and taking the client because he could not get the client to train at my price. This is the tip of the iceberg. This place will honestly probably go out of business and good riddance. I was never given the respect I deserved and all of my female coworkers endured sexual harassment and filed multiple complaints before one particularly sleezy trainer was finally let go (we are talking over 10 complaints over the years from men and women). I can blame no individual person but a culture of male dominated workplace that ubiquitously objectifies women's bodies and disrespect us as the equal coworkers we were. Not all of my male coworkers partook in this behavior but they all passively watched as this treatment went on and that says enough.

Pros

Most of the staff is chill, flexible hours, you can work out for free, good for resume experience

Cons

The owner treats staff members poorly (ie cursing and yelling at us, unprofessional outbursts (more like tantrums), he is cheap and will not update old equipment, he will fire lower staff for things that the managers get away with because they are all friends, instead of firing poor management he just rotates them around different locations. Toxic work environment, and the pay is poor considering I've had to do things beyond the job description with laughable "commission" and at a minimum wage, commission that managers typically get greedy over. Instead of promoting good workers he gives $25 gift cards to the one that sells the most, and the managent $100 ones. They make girls open and sometimes close when the areas aren't the safest, and they are typically the only ones working until management arrives. A lawsuit waiting to happen...

Horrible place

Pros

Free gym membership and wear sweats to work

Cons

They hire on 30 pts and they can only get like 1 or 2 then fire them after a couple of weeks and give those clients to their top performing trainers and it’s an endless cycle.
