Crappy schedules that rotate between day shifts, to night shifts, to mid day, to weekend shifts. The unhealthy nature of their scheduling explains the high ratio of drinkers, divorcees, and burnt out ex-musician pot heads(they all end up at Crutchfield eventually) that work there.
Managers have their poisitions more-or-less because they've been there forever. They are loyal to the company but not necessarily good at their jobs. They are not trained managers, they are fortunate Crutchfield lackies who likely couldn't get a similar job anywhere else.
A few longer-term employees have preferential shifts with M-F 8-4 schedules. They make the most money working the best shifts and actually have a life You won't ever get that because they don't allow that anyone to have only day shifts anymore. The few who do were grandfathered in. You'll get to talk to brain dead kids dreaming about subwoofers at 11:30pm on a Monday night. (They won't buy anything, they have no money, but they'll tie up your line for a half hour)
Plan to work through the holidays. No vacations around Christmas allowed. But that's the money season.
It's clicky and political. To move up, as in most companies, just be a kiss ass who accepts everything without question. Yea team! If you're a mindless drone, a company cheer leader, and don't complain, they'll love you! But again, that's more-or-less any corporation.
Phone sales is doing less and less of the over all business. It'll likely all be done on the internet someday. There's very little opportunity to advance.
