a big privately traded company that has positions all over the US

Cons

Everything else associated with this corporate scheme. To make an all too long nightmare story short, Culinart could not care less about employees and would throw you under the bus faster than you can blink. Nepotism is rampant. Stooping to get people to tattle tale then never confront you over an issue you didn't even know existed! It's a great place to work if you like feeling disposable and a piece of garbage. Also they would rather hire outside than promote from within because they could pay lower wages that way. So very sad when you peel back the layers and see this company is ROTTEN. Health insurance they offer is a joke and the dental plan is horrid.

I worked at one of the university accounts that they hold, so my schedule was not the worst that i have ever had.....

Cons

Poor system management, lack of caring for employees and managers, executives put their needs before others, no job security, always wondering if you will lose your job no matter how hard you work...

One of the accounts I worked at was amazing. We were a small team and everything worked as it should, and my chef manager had more freedom and flexibility (with menus) than he would've at other companies in the same industry. I met the big (national?) bosses a few times in passing, they seemed cool.

Cons

It was a nightmare to work here mostly due to ineffective and poorly trained management at the local level and especially at the regional level. Witnessed (at multiple separate accounts) health and safety violations, labor violations, and general bad practices that managers were unwilling to change. I also had some sexist managers at the time. Low pay.
