Pros

Challenging. Wide Diversity of projects gives lots of experience quickly. Business maybe coming back to profitability now that numberof chemists way down.

Cons

Morale low as recent layoffs targeted experienced high performers. Work hard/travel overseas yields higher salary led to layoffs while other questionable performers kept. HR rules on their own agenda. Sr VPs either clueless or just lost. Middle managers try but often over ruled or overwhelmed.

Pros

I got to do a lot of organic chemistry - both small scale and large scale. I got exposure to all aspects of drug discovery and development process.

Cons

This is a place where its very hard to grow professionally. Promotions are given only after several years and you have be lucky to be with a supporting supervisor (who are very rare!).

Pros

The most positive reason to work at AMRI is that the products made at AMRI positively affect lives. You can feel good about the impact of your work.

Cons

Management is terrible at AMRI. They do not care about the morale of the employees. They do not reward employees for good work.
