Working here is like punishing yourself

Pros

I, unfortunately, have no positive experience with Curious Plot.

Cons

Working here at Curious Plot is like punishing yourself. Working for this company means that you'll stress yourself out and exhaust yourself. The workload given by the management can be overwhelming most of the time, and being forced to work for extended hours isn't fun either. I suggest avoiding this company.

We're sorry your experience here was stressful and you felt overwhelmed. We hate hearing that. That is not the experience we want for the talented people we bring in. Thank you for the candid feedback. We are working on ways to balance workloads to avoid adding stress to anyone's life. We all have more than enough of that these days.

We believe growing pains are better than the slow death of stagnation. We will always err on the side of growth, but not for growth's sake. We want to grow because growth provides more opportunities for our teammates. The only way to make room for employee growth without attrition is to grow the agency. But we feel the pain and are working on ways to relieve it. Thank you for giving us the encouragement to work even harder on behalf of teammates like you who want to work here.

Going downhill fast

Pros

The employees themselves are great and hardworking people. They offer a hybrid model and flexibility with work/life balance.

Cons

I am very sad to see the way this agency is going. They transitioned us to an outdated project management software without consulting with the people who actually do the work, leaving 90% of the agency frustrated and finding it harder and harder to do their jobs. There is hardly room for growth. The same people sit at the top, leaving opportunities very scarce for those, even if they have a senior title or have been here for years. The gossip amongst leaders is disheartening and unprofessional. It has become toxic and favoritism runs high here. The culture was the best part of this agency, but it's pretty much non-existent at this point. Many of the benefits the agency gave in the past are now gone completely. There aren't enough desks in the office for the number of employees. Instead of moving to another office with more space, they are doing the exact opposite by taking away office space with a kitchen remodel. Don't get me started on the third party IT process and the technical difficulties with office Internet.

This is Laurie Fleck. Yes, I’m here and, yes, I’m listening. As I’m sure you know, I have a literal glass door, and it’s open at any time for a transparent conversation. If not, please reach out to our HR team. I’d be happy to address your concerns and even give you more accurate information. I look forward to hearing from you.
