Pros

A contractor that actually cares about the well-being of their employees.

Cons

Manager was in a different location. Was the only employee with the contractor in my location which caused a lack of interpersonal relationships.

Pros

The president, CEO, and my PM allowed me to work remotely because of a family situation. As busy as it gets sometimes, I always feel that there is a "family first" climate. When I was working in the office, I was connected to a great group of hard working professionals (including contractors and other remote employees) and was able to approach HR and Accounting personnel comfortably (very friendly) for questions and concerns. Even now, working remotely, I am readily connected via phone, email, and Skype. Because it is a relatively small company, and the project group with whom I work is pretty tightly knit, everyone's input and feedback about processes and procedures is considered, and a lot more often than not, that input and feedback becomes part of the processes and procedures, both internally and externally (those that include the client).

Cons

Working remotely in general means not having face-to-face personal interaction with the team. But then again, it is a choice I made and is the nature of working remotely.

Pros

Some flexibility to work from home when needed, but great community of people.

Cons

Too many to mention, but here are a few, they have few resources for the employees but expect you to complete everything at the highest level. They have let go over 7 people in the past two years, but have hired noone YET the work remains the same. They do not care about your work-life balance, 60-70 hours a week are a norm and there is no financial incentive (bonuses or time off).
