Why do I still work here?!?

Pros

I like my coworkers. 1/2 day on Friday (but longer days M-TH).

Cons

There are so many! Super, super high turn over. Probably because management doesn't care about or seem to appreciate the employees that are actually producing the work, and it shows. You are expected to work more than 40 hours per week, if not, you run the risk of being replaced by someone that will. For some reason this is more important than getting your work done efficiently. There is also some gender biased. Let's just say overall culture and morale is terrible.

At DBR we strive to maintain and grow the small company culture that made DBR a great place to work. As of late 2016, we have two new cross-functional teams working towards keeping company culture as a top priority. As a result, multiple internal communication initiatives were rolled out, one being “Appreciation Moments” which encourages leaders and colleagues to carve out a moment to appreciate positive qualities, behaviors and contributions. We have many longstanding employees and we're always welcoming new talent to our team, so we feel optimistic with the ideas we have for improving company culture and morale.

Grind, grind, grind, overtime, overtime, overtime

Pros

Free coffee, decent pay, and free food from vendors, some good coworkers, relatively easy work, free codes and standards books, half days on Fridays (assuming you get your work done), knowledgeable PEs and PMs, pretty good training, ITs are there for any computer issues

Cons

Overtime is normal, working on weekends and holidays is normal, a lot of travel time almost every other week, coworkers frequently slamming on their work desk out of frustration, server maintenance can sometimes screw with the projects (but this didn't happen all that often), architects constantly change the floor plan and thus you have to replace everything, 10 hour days just *click click click* on the computer (if you want a job here, it would be good if you are a field technician that specifies things for the engineers so that you're not stuck in the office), some people stay in the office until 2AM or even 4AM from what I've heard from other coworkers.
