Pros

I appreciated my many wonderful coworkers and the casual and inclusive work culture. The are a lot of opportunities for growth and project diversity for employees who are ambitious. Many of the clinical trials that the company handles are really interesting and valuable initiatives in global health research. The office space is great (some shared office space, but not a cubicle city) and located in a really nice, quiet area on the lake.

Cons

There is some faltering confidence with the leadership skills of the owners. The software needs a lot of investment if they hope for it to remain competitive, but software development initiatives are scattered. In some circumstances stronger employees/departments end up compensating for weaker players.

Pros

Due to insufficient resourcing, it is possible to work on many different types of studies simultaneously. So, there is the ability to learn through experience, in a relatively short time.

Cons

Leadership is toxic and burnout is high. There is no appreciation for hard work from leadership, and there are never raises or bonuses given. Managers are overworked and training is often outdated. Data Managers are not informed or adequately trained prior to software changes being released. So there are frequent preventable “crisis” situations that arise; and resolution to problems fall on Data Managers to troubleshoot software bugs. Rather than fostering learning, Data Managers are pressured to squeeze 65 hours of work into 40 hours on a timesheet.
