Challenging company

Pros

Very challenging, got to meet new people mostly of whom were interested in success in the various distribution centers. (I'm referring to management).

Cons

The salaries for the hourly pickers were too low to attract and retain good employees. Literally, management argued over $.05 and $.10 a hour increases. The HR team had so much turnover in my location that the function lost all credibility. The IT support lagged weeks to months behinds employee's request. One employee was still waiting for his computer 6 month after being hired; this was a management person.

Pros

Decent pay, started at $11.75/hr for the first three months. Raised to or above $12.50 within nine months. GREAT benefits package (you choose your level)! Advancement opportunities are there for the eager few. .

Cons

Lots of temps through temp agencies coming and going added a lot of stress and made you feel a little bit more expendable/replaceable. .

Pros

To be fair, given our current marketplace, the benefits weren't too bad.

Cons

The pay is very minimal, and from my experience, based upon the Thirty-One Gifts account, the organization as I experience it seemed to suffer from nepotism. Unfortunately, all job functions were categorized as general labor with equal pay for unequal functions. I was counted on to manage my department and workflow, but without title and pay. I regret that this experience should so feel like a wasted opportunity, but I can only assume the problem could best be described as mismanagement. It is entirely possible the numerous other accounts available throughout the company will offer completely different experiences. Also, realize that I approached this as a ground floor opportunity with the hopes of using my education, professional background, and work ethic to seek promotion within the organization.
