Extremely political, high favoritism, do not treat everyone the same. Very unprofessional management who is friends with the lower level employees, but if they don't like you better watch out because they will take you down!

DNV GL has TONS of promise. It is at the hub of energy generation, transmission, battery storage, efficiency, demand response, etc. There are very smart individuals throughout the company, and lots of opportunities to work cross-functionally. This is a very good place to make industry connections, since they reach every corner of the industry. Benefits are strong for the industry. Oakland, Portland and Medford are the only good office locations.

Cons

Accountability. The management team acts like they're reading books from the 80s. Teams are not managed evenly and hate sharing resources, there is little structural benefit to working overtime, and the process to get promoted is faster and easier to leave the company and get rehired soon after (seriously - it happens often). Innovation - they WANT to be innovative, but the management effort was to have everyone in the company watch long webinars taught by old european men about what innovation meant to them... Hiring lifetime utilities professionals for insight is NOT innovating. HR - This team is an incompetent disaster. You know the people who read only the first line of an email, and respond to it 5 days later? Or who screw things up then want a promotion for fixing their own mistakes? Or who brag that they reduced employee benefits to save the company money? Think of a room full of them.
