Pros

As a career break is very good. You get a basic salary to pay the bills and a 60% work load throughout the year. Even though it is an O&G consultancy, you rarely (if not ever) have to go offshore, which is very good for the family oriented employee. If you know how to keep low and 'play the (political) game' you are rarely disturbed.

Cons

It is definitely not for the career oriented professional as progression is sluggish; there are limited opportunities to get exposed to the field and to networking. The title you hold has no relevance to the salary you get as they are decided by different group of people. Titles too, are not related to seniority nor competence but to the purported knowledge you claim to have.

Pros

An international company with office all over the world allowing for interesting opportunities and chances to work with many different types of companies and projects.

Cons

The upper management has gotten so obsessed with growth that they have forgotten to run the production side of the company. The quality of the work and the importance of the quality in the day to day operations in now an afterthought.
