I would like to know more about what is behind this review. I am trying to get my head around the positive outlook and good retirement and great projects, yet you do not recommend people join us. If it is the work/life balance thing that is depressing your enthusiasm for DOWL, I recommend that you discuss this with your team supervisor, make sure this is brought ot the forefront in your annual performance review and quarterly "check-ins", and/or that you come to me to discuss.

Senior staff and IT were proactive in getting employees set up to work comfortably from home

Cons

Unfortunately mentorship took a hit with forced at home work.

Thanks for the positive review. We did our best to be reasonable, responsible and nimble throughout this bizarre time. The credit really goes to our employees for complying with the needs of our community and adapting to the conditions. It is not lost on us that some people are struggling with the isolation and that the development of our younger staff is one aspect of our current working conditions that has suffered the most. As you suggest we will continue to invest in training and mentoring, and we will do everything possible to "catch-up" once the pandemic wanes and we can recongregate as a team.

Not an employee but I would like to be!

Pros

Read the reviews! For such a large company they apparently know how to treat their employees and this speaks huge volumes! The offering of training in certain areas was somewhat unprecedented for what I have seen in my local area. They seem to have an amazing benefit package. The Captain William Henry Moore Bridge project looks freaking amazing, fun, challenging and right up my mental alley. Yes this is a company I would work for. Please note that I was required to answer initial questions as if I was an employee or former employee but I am not. I figured a company who has such a great review and history deserved to have it pointed out by a non employee. Great job to the management and team for providing whatever atmosphere and working model you have to achieve this. Cara Tapken
