      Pros

      Excellent leadership. A vast array of talented professionals to call upon. Lots of great projects to work on. The company is well managed providing opportunities for growth and professional development.

      DOWL is a great place to work - great people, great projects!

      Pros

      Right size for me! Not too large of a firm. Large enough to get good size/challenging projects, but small enough where you can get to know your peers and leadership. You can have a voice and influence, and are recognized for your work. The firm is always working to improve quality and project delivery - recently ISO 9000 certified the company is committed to continuous improvement. There is a PM training program, and they have a clear path to becoming a partner. They give you responsibility and autonomy. DOWL has an OpEx (Operational Excellence) program that drives their project delivery. It is a good tool to assist the design team with project delivery. DOWL recently merged with OBEC, a first class civil engineering firm located throughout Oregon. OBEC has significant structural and bridge design capabilities.

      Cons

      They expect a lot but also recognize hard work. Project deadlines.

Our OpEx system of quality management, our ISO 9001 certification, our PM training and advancement program, and our merger with OBEC in Oregon has created an environment of growth, engagement and excitement that is unprecedented for our firm.       Exciting times for great engineering firm

      Pros

      DOWL is a dynamic engineering company, always looking to grow in ways that can help their clients, employees, and communities. Recent merger with OBEC is pretty exciting for employees and opens up some great opportunities for work experience, new markets, and career advancement.

      Cons

      With a dynamic company comes change. Sometimes the changes can seem overwhelming, but IMO management has tried to create "positive turbulence" with the changes with the goal of a stronger, healthier company for the employees and clients.

      Thanks for the love from Sheridan. Yes, we are in a process of controlled change and growth that is stretching all of us. And we could not be happier about it! BTW, Sheridan is one of those great communities where DOWL has been able to become woven into the fabric of the community and create a strong vibrant office that consistently wins great projects and attracts and retains terrific people. Couldn't be prouder of what you are accomplishing.
