Needs management overhaul

Pros

Freedom to do what you want, at least in my position.

Cons

The company has expanded beyond than a 30 people prop shop. It desperately needs a new management structure that works for its size. There is very little mentorship and management for new hires.

Pros

Free food, some nice people

Cons

Flip Flopped on coming into office during covid, was told different things multiple times. Don't know where they ended up on the decision, but after record profits during lockdown was trying to make everyone come back in but didn't have any real reasons Management turnover and change Expects a lot because they "pay a lot" but they are pretty low for industry

COVID has certainly created many challenges, including the need to be flexible and to pivot to ensure we are keeping our people and communities safe while serving the markets that underpin our global economy. Currently, we still have less than half of our people back in the office and that return has been voluntary thus far. This exception to this is our amazing IT and support teams that have come in for the duration to ensure we remained operational – we’re very grateful to them. We do believe that we are stronger at a firm – more innovative, more collaborative and more engaged – when we are able to be together. What that will look like long term is still a bit in flux – what we do know is that we’ve always given our people a lot of flexibility and autonomy and don’t see that changing.

Pros

- Good WLB by trading industry standards - People are smart and laidback - Consistently profitable - Company structure is flat - Meritocracy. No company politics I've encountered

Cons

- Not diverse, however "diversity hires" won't solve the problem - Many long tenured employees. Limited upward opportunities - Heard some desks have bad office politics - Senior management takes the lion share of profits therefore you may get smaller share of your PnL than at a competitor form

Thanks for your detailed review. As you noted, we are a firm that values meritocracy and that is reflected from Day 1 in our hiring practices. We believe that actively working to increase diversity in tech and trading is in harmony with that value. Our view is that exceptional talent is everywhere, but opportunities aren’t, so we should work to create them.
