Pros

Actually seeing your work in production and how it benefits your customers. Talented engineers and developers to bolster experience. Projects are very diversified so you get a broad array of exposure to different customers/environments.

Cons

There are a lot of "fluff" positions and upper management is top-heavy. Requirements to projects are so loosely defined that customers take advantage and scope grows beyond realistic deadlines. This requires engineers and developers to work a lot of overtime to meet expectations. Pay is not in line with industry standards. Hard to take time-off without affecting current projects.

We value and consider all feedback and we’ll find ways to improve but I wanted to address your specific concerns here. Due to our growth, we have restructured our organization and brought in new leaders who are tasked with solving issues and improving our project management processes. I invite anyone to express those concerns directly to me. They are also welcome to do so anonymously, if that’s preferred.

Pros

management is clueless, you can do as you wish without consequences.

Cons

toxic environment pretty much everyone just goes through the motions. O no training bonus is a joke, you will not get it unless you're part of the "old boys club" no advancement, bonus, etc - unless you went to school with the previous owner, are related to the previous owner, are friends with previous owner or have been there for 20 years.

total lack of respect

Pros

Challenging work and rewarding to see a customer do well with what we help them with. Mentoring was good but problematic since we lack significant reward mechanisms.

Cons

Sales and the leadership of this company knowingly and willfully put the execution team in to repeated no win scenarios. I had the opportunity to interface with much of our senior leadership and it became apparent they have no respect for the managers, site teams, and engineers. They do not defend us against unreasonable customers or their expectations. They take the easy way out for themselves but leave it to us to figure out how to make their unreasonable promises to the customers happen. All while giving no support and pitting teams against each other. Rewarding my mangers was difficult. Buying meals for a project well done requires prior executive approvals (which they do give) which makes surprise rewards being potentially on your dime. Raises were also very lackluster and homogenized. Good performers and bad performers were treated nearly identical. Many of my reports realized this and simply moved on.
