A payday loan company pretending to be a tech company

Pros

For some reason a paid lunch. Pay is good

Cons

It took me a short while to realize this is a smartphone version of the place on the corner of my block that makes weekly loans at high rates. Except we don’t charge interest just a transaction fee that if it was interest would be in the 20%+ range. If you can live with yourself pushing this on poor people then this is a good job.

DailyPay Response
5y
DailyPay partners with America’s top employers to offer millions of workers more financial power and security by allowing them access to their employer-verified earned pay. By seeing what they have earned each day, and having the ability to access their pay when they need it, employees can pay bills on time and avoid paying late fees or taking out predatory loans that perpetuate the never-ending cycle of debt. DailyPay charges a small, fixed, transaction-based fee like an ATM - $1.99 or $2.99 - nothing like a loan. If an employee does not make any transfers in a given pay period, she is not charged a penny. We are proud of our workplace culture and actively strive to offer competitive compensation as you note, as well as benefits and programs to make our company an outstanding employer and an innovative provider of financial inclusion.

Toxic CRO

Pros

Great model/product Direct management gets it Wonderful co-workers

Cons

CRO lacks leadership ability. It is very clear he doesn't care to get to know any of the Account Executives or leadership below him. He simply doesn't listen to others. He constantly interrupts people when they are talking. His condescending attitude is demoralizing - he has an innate need to make others feel like idiots while bolstering his own ego. He is rapidly destroying morale and productivity. This view is shared by the majority.

Pros

Some of the people you work with care very deeply about the job, a lot of super nice coworkers

Cons

Zero advancement opportunity Zero transparency from upper management Layoffs of upper management, and upper management saying that no job is secure there Some of the worst customers you will ever speak with Constant promises of change with zero follow through Absolutely zero care for the employees themselves
