Pros

Could be a good place if the management cared more about their employees

Cons

Not giving time to properly train, Treated like robots, negative attuites towards employees. Too much complaining about drive times the employees cant control, when the customer pulls into the line and chooses to wait they expect to get correct and fresh food. To rushed and customer not getting proper care, 1 person is expected to do the job of 3. All they care about is drive times, The customer would rather have good food and an order without mistakes.

Pros

Discounted food, one free soft drink a day, the location I was hired at was new and in a nice city, no two days were the same, you get to be one of the first to know about new Blizzard flavors or food added to the menu, free Blizzard samples occasionally. The calories you burn working here will allow you to eat ice cream every day and you won't gain a pound. You learn how order mistakes happen even if you think you are the most accurate packer there is. You get to see how DQ treats are made.

Cons

The location I was at was a toxic culture that ultimately led me to decide not to open my own franchise some day. Occasionally corporate would visit and basically grade you as an employee and a store. This reminded me of being in boot camp the way it was done. It was very intimidating! Working at a DQ in the summer is extremely hard work, too! Then, after running around like a crazy person trying to make sure everything is running smoothly as part of the team, you have to help clean before you can go home because there is sticky ice cream everywhere or grease from the grill area. You will go home covered in ice cream and food and completely exhausted in the summer. Sometimes you won't get all of the hours you need in the winter so they will call you last-minute and tell you not to come in, or that you can come in a few hours later instead.
