* flexible class / teaching schedule * meaningful work * amazing colleagues and students * diverse student population

Cons

* paid for teaching time only * hourly wage docked for smaller classes, but not increased for above full classes * not dependable or livable wage - adjunct capped at 19.5 hrs/wk teaching (not in class at least 6 weeks per year) *school went through enormous changes during pandemic, which has lead to chaotic work environment

Pros

A pension if you work there for at least 10 years but it is a based on 80/20 rule.

Cons

No work from home policy. No merit based raises. What you are hired at is what you will remain at with the exception of 2-3% cost of living increases every 2 or 3 years.. No opportunity to move up in a pay band as you gain more responsibility and experience. And look to reorganization to take that pay increase away.

Pros

Part-time + full time I've worked here over 20 years, and most of those years were good. We had a very family-like environment, but that changed about 7 or 8 years ago. There are many good people still here that I love, but they'll all probably be gone soon as well.

Cons

People are leaving here in droves. Management is awful. It is very clear that the people now in charge don't care about their employees at all. A LOT of age and racial discrimination. They're getting rid of anyone who has been here long enough to be good at their job and hiring people who look "right" but don't have a clue. Low pay. More and more work load. No concern for how decisions will effect workers. Cold, and very impersonal orders coming down from above - no information about why, or what to expect in the future. No security at all.
