Stay away! DCCCD was a good place to work. Dallas College is not.

Pros

Faculty, staff, students, benefits. Chancellor Joe May is retiring early.

Cons

Low pay is now even lower. No work life balance. Staff are being forced to reapply for their jobs. We are then offered lower ranking positions with lower pay. This is not due to poor job performance. Not everyone is rehired. Many good hard working people have lost their jobs for no reason. The survivors are left with more work and lower pay. Meanwhile, the administration is bloated and the College is handing millions of taxpayer dollars to Boston Consulting Group.

Pros

Time off, the faculty and staff who work there.

Cons

This used to be a great place to work until the district merged into one college. They have gotten rid if most lower level positions while at the same time elevating their own salaries. The institution is so top heavy now it’s unreal. The way they are cutting people is just sad. They are cutting people who have worked there for 20+ years who only had a few years left before they could retire. It’s so terrible to watch people being escorted out of the building by armed policemen. They have no heart. They keep saying how they understand how hard it is for those who lost their jobs but they are sitting there with their huge salaries. The provost actually got a huge raise while othe positions were being cut. The faculty are completely up in arms too. Some are being forced to go to multiple campus just to teach their load. Many other employees had to take large pay cuts just to keep a position. They have made everyone reapply for positions and then if you are lucky enough to get one you will most likely be relocated to a campus that is extremely long commute. The sad thing is, there was no need for them to eliminate so many positions because our positions were already budgeted for, as our salaries are paid for through state funding.
