Good advancement opportunities, frequent reorganizations

Pros

For high performers, there are and will be good opportunities for advancement and development. It seems that reorganizations both present opportunities for the high performers and risk for under-performers. Overall the company keeps moving forward with innovative business practices, a forward-looking and sustainable vision, and a focus on results.

Cons

A complex matrix environment is tough to navigate for newcomers, but this is par for the course for multinationals. The top-down decisions about reorganization can seem concerning, but also create opportunities.

Good company if you are in the right job...

Pros

Danfoss has a solid reputation for drives and power electronics and makes good products. Great pay, benefits, work environment, balance of life to work. Leadership is acceptable, and the company has had some great years of development in the US over the past decade. Overall, a great work experience in terms of the overall business, work environment and co-worker interaction.

Cons

Quality and customer satisfaction are after-thoughts to the original sale. Get the money, and figure out the rest later, except it never gets figured out. The standard business is stable and well thought out, but the customized and solar business are not healthy business segments and not lead by capable managers. Lots of excuses to deflect responsibility for business failures- the market is soft, financial accounting is inaccurate, etc. The real problem is a lack of clear vision for the business, and lack of management accountability for P&L management. Communication is terrible from Denmark to the US, and the standard business in the US wants nothing to do with the customized business. In many ways, the customized business and standard business compete with each other, thereby duplicating or negating many sales efforts. The customized business also suffers from lack of engineering and manufacturing resources, so completing any project is nearly impossible. The standard business is much more solid, more well thought out, has more talented management.
