Pros

tips are good. shifts fly by flexable with hours and vacation time

Cons

too many standards... and it seems that who ever comes up with the standards has never worked as a server on the floor.. they bring it standards to try to make guest satisfaction better but in reality it makes the servers job harder which makes for a poorer experience for the guest. Managers are constantly revolving to different restaurants being transferred and they don't care about employees. long shifts of constantly running around with no breaks and no food and will be written up it caught standing around or god forbid eating a breadstick thats not paid for. uniform has to be perfect or you get sent home. if servers could be replaced by robots this company would be alot happier as we are not allowed to have any personality or go off script.

Pros

Good benefits package from the beginning, Fair hourly wage, good food, well-run company

Cons

Restaurant drama and culture (this can't be avoided, but can be especially intense in a big restaurant like Red Lobster or Olive Garden), varying degrees of competency among management.

Pros

-pleasant customers at my restaurant from Darden, I know it's not true about all though. -clean restaurant -access to your work info and everything else through an online database

Cons

-extremely rude managers (only 1 respectful & respected manager that I worked with) -next to NO recognition for hard work -expect all the servers to be complete robots, uniforms have to be EXACTLY the same, very strict dress code, examples: must have specific number of buttons buttoned, must hit on 37 different points at each table during their visit, only give you 3 tables at once in order for you to spend a good amount of time with each table while they eat, however, that's NOT what a lot of tables want, so you either end up being extremely bored or extremely annoying to your table. -are extremely quick to punish you for your score on the customer review surveys, will have private talks with you about the bad ones, but never say a word about the good things customers say, never reward you or compliment you.
