Pros

Opportunities to meet new people regularly because they fire their employees so often. Great place to challenge yourself because they work you like a race horse. Hone your critical thinking skills by deciphering the silver-tongued speeches of lies. Thrilling place to work if you have a dissenting opinion, you never know which day could be your last! Have fun feeling like you work at a major company, like Google, with a foosball table in the break room.

Cons

This place is an unforetold circle of hell. It's like being in an abusive relationship. The pay is great if you can meet their obscene standards, however the daily dose of soul crushing is always lurking behind every corner. The talking heads of the company visit from their ivory tower wearing black, ill-fitting sport coats to feed you lies like treacherous harpies and sirens. The supervisors act as turrets to the ineffective HR team. The disciplinary actions happen so frequently and for such obnoxious reasons, like doing your job or disagreeing with a middle manager.

Wow! We are seriously blown away by your creative writing skills. We're happy you were able to break free from here in order to nurture your career as a fiction novelist, as clearly that is your calling. We truly are always open to input from our team members (though they'll be hard pressed to provide feedback with such flamboyance). Best of luck in your future!

Abusive supervisor

Pros

Pay and benefits are decent. The hours are usually steady. You can take your breaks when you want however lunch is only 30 minutes and unpaid.

Cons

Recently a supervisor moved from second to first shift. The way this person communicates with employees is extremely disrespectful and in some cases abusive and would most likely qualify as harassment at other companies. Examples are giving someone bad news and laughing while walking away, yelling at someone until they cry, and acting like they are better than everyone else. It is crazy the company keeps this person around because they have a long history of poor behavior and I think it reflects the overall neglect of management. To make matters worse the chain of command says HR is the last place you can go after trying everything else. This makes it hard to bring up issues like this without fearing for your job.

We definitely agree that one bad apple can spoil the bunch! Please report this supervisor to HR with more specific detail. If someone is behaving this way, it is not in line with our company values and we need all the information available in order to take appropriate action.

doing Veterans a disservice

Pros

You will probably make a few new friends while here.

Cons

The company likes using taglines such as "We our making a positive difference in Veteran's lives" to overshadow a lot of their shortcomings as far as treating their own employees go. Unfortunately this isn't really true. Since the company won the VA contract quite a few years ago they have yet to meet the required quality performance metrics for classifying documents. This is all because they are more concerned with pushing out as many pages per hour as possible rather than letting employees properly figure things out. The employees who strive for good quality are often fired for going too slow while the ones that break procedure are rewarded because it helps the bottom line. Many of us find this disturbing but we are unable to do anything about it under management.
