Pros

Starting PTO is 15 days which is better than some other places I've worked at. I also felt the salary I received was decent for the work I was doing. Aside from management, a lot of really friendly employees.

Cons

I experienced firsthand the blatant favoritism in the company on my very first day there. I brushed it aside and didn't want to get involved in office politics. I felt like I was in high school all over again due to the pettiness and jealousy among employees. However, just about every single person in the company that I met would rant to me about how disorganized the company is and how management makes decisions that aren't always for the good of the company. Management also pulled a very unprofessional move which I won't elaborate on. For a company that offers customized software for their clients, their own applications (for HR/project management use) are super outdated and third-party. They are a 40-year-old startup company that does not want to graduate college but stay in the fraternity house for as long as they could. They try to imitate Silicon Valley companies but failed in innovation because that isn't something they are interested in. I really do not know how long this company will survive with this mentality. Honestly, I think they are just looking to be acquired. As a software developer, it is very difficult to come into a company that expects you to know from Day 1 how to fix the bugs in their software without realizing that every developer code differently. Training and documentation is non-existent. Their tech stack is outdated. Someone from HR admitted to employing a contract professional who's duty was to fix their ratings on Glassdoor so a lot of those 5-star ratings are professionally written by this person they hired. Honestly, you might be OK if you're someone other than a software developer. If you're a developer and this was just an option, choose the other option. The company makes it seem like they're so cool and hip but that's makeup for the ugly bare face that they're really hiding.

Disappointing to hear you didn’t enjoy your three years with DSI. Our mission is to make our customers successful as it relates to all things inventory in the digital economy. Developers are an inherent part of that process, and DSI is continuing to build a strong team to adapt to our changing needs.

Pros

Nice office space. Working downtown has it's advantages. They bring in a lot of free food. There are quite a few marketable perks they use for recruiting purposes. You'll need that free gym membership to work off some stress.

Cons

The CEO openly references people having 'targets on their backs' and 'guns to their heads' in company-wide meetings. People get fired all the time for no reason, or for any reason. Goals and variable compensation plans get changed all the time. Seriously, it's a den of vipers.
