Pros

nice office in downtown KC

Cons

Just read the other reviews that aren't fake 5 star reviews made by HR. There is a reason this aspect is listed in all real reviews. If you don't believe them for some reason, click the overall star rating above and look at the graph over time. This is blatantly obvious since DSI fired about 1/3rd of the company in March and many many more in the year after that, but the rating went STRAIGHT UP starting in April of last year. The absurdity of this company in trying to dupe new candidates into working at this god awful company, rather than trying to fix the culture, or the CEO problems speaks volumes. Just read the HR replies to all negative reviews where DSI blames the person reviewing rather than admitting any wrongdoing despite some of the hilariously awful things in these reviews that I can verify really happened, should tell the reader all you need to know.

Our CEO has transformed this company over the last 24 months and finding the employees that contribute and care about the organization has been his top priority. As a matter of fact, in the last 24 months more than 25 people have returned to DSI in large part because of his leadership. It is unfortunate that some people are no longer with DSI, but you can't argue with our success which throughout our 40 year history has never been better. Despite the mean- spirited way in which you characterize our team, we truly wish you the best.

Pros

You will learn to better analyze a company and their culture before accepting your next job offer.

Cons

The “Zero Stars” review hits the nail on the head. If you are looking for a place to grow and develop professionally, look elsewhere. Management operates off gut feelings, often with drastic emotional reactions. There is a severe lack of direction throughout the entire organization. Every year, management will implement a cursory plan for change that begins with firings and organizational restructures, but always ends with the same chaos and confusion. The employees will continue to show up to work aimlessly under the whip. Behind closed doors, after hours, or even during the company-wide quarterly meetings, you will find DSI is a classic example of a “good ol’ boys” environment where chauvinistic, bigoted, and racist remarks are casually shrugged off when reported to management. I would strongly encourage anyone interviewing for a job a DSI to visit with a current employee who has been at the company at least a year. I have had many colleagues approach me, inquiring about openings with DSI. The only recommendation I can give, is to not give them the time of day. It is difficult to capture the pernicious experience that is working at DSI in a brief review. In short, regardless of where you are in your career, do not be fooled by the superficial perks marketed to candidates. The benefits are not worth it, and when compared others in the industry, prove to be sub-par.

Pros

Direct coworkers were really nice. We made fun of a few of the execs to help us keep our sanity.

Cons

There are so many examples of bad leadership littered throughout these review. It is sad what DSI has become. It used to be a fantastic place to work. Years ago when Mark too over is when the downhill trend started. If you need some examples, just go filter by lowest rating and buckle your seat belt. They spend so much time trying to fake their reputation it's scary. Ever been to /r/instagramvsreality? It reminds me of DSI. May look good at first glance, but once you see behind the curtains you see how bad it really is.
