Pros

DataBank has spent years studying its culture using a fascinating set of archetypal tools from CultureTalk.com (check them out). As a result, we've developed a visceral understanding of our culture – at the individual, team and company level – that is rare in organizations today. And here's what we found: we're a collective of Heroes with a relentless drive to overcome the toughest challenges; Caregivers with a compulsion to serve and protect others; and Sages who are obsessed with precision and transparency. This deep understanding of who we are has allowed us to identify and nurture the values and behaviors we know to create the best data center partner for our customers, and the best workplace for ourselves. And these values are celebrated hundreds of times a month as employees recognize each other in our online culture hub called the DataBank Vault. You can literally log in and see how your peers are calling each other out for putting people first, inspiring confidence, being data-centered, assuming positive intent, etc. Each recognition is a story that brings our culture to life dozens of times a day. We also survey the entire staff multiple times a year, gather their recommendations, and report back every three months on the steps we're taking to address issues. No company is perfect, but at DataBank we put an enormous effort into understanding our culture, measuring it, sharing the good and the bad, and continuously improving it.

Cons

Like most companies growing rapidly through acquisition, there is a LOT of change taking place and more work than people to get it done. But that also creates opportunities for those who think entrepreneurially, who are self-sufficient, self-starting, and with a bias toward action.

Pros

You are able to do some remote work

Cons

Salaries are the lowest for certain roles that I’ve ever seen in my career, with overloads of work and high expectations. This is the perfect example of Overworked and Underpaid. They need to get with the 21st century with all that work they have over there.

DataBank Holdings Response

First, we’d like to thank you for your time and past efforts here at DataBank. Every single person who has worked here has made a contribution in their own way and helped to leave an indelible mark, and we appreciate that. In terms of workload, we know it is hard to keep up with the growth we’ve experienced in this fast-moving industry. To keep pace, we’ve more than doubled our headcount and operations in the past 24 months and we’ve implemented new compensation, reward, and recognition plans to ensure our employees are valued in more than one way for the contributions they make.
