Pros

-Amazing product and pace of product innovation. I've been at DataRobot for just over a year and the number and quality of innovative improvements in that timeframe is like nothing I've ever seen at any other software company. -The data science talent is very impressive. The customer facing data science team is always solving extremely complex problems with the DataRobot platform, and they are also super helpful when explaining complex ideas to non-data scientists. -Over the past year, I've found a lot of support from leaders when pursuing an idea that I believed could help DataRobot. I am empowered to make improvements and equipped with the tools that I need to achieve success. -I have found the medical/dental benefits to be quite good - as a father of two, this is very important to me.

Cons

-The product development moves so fast that it can sometimes feel like you are left behind if you do not stay current with the capabilities. Fortunately, they have a great content management system to help. -Some departments move quickly before communicating and seeking alignment with others and this can feel quite chaotic at times. -No 401k match or annual review process.

Pros

Fantastic technology, rigorously focused on core strengths of automated ML, very carefully expanding product line with complementary acquisitions to provide consistent automation across the machine learning life cycle. Insanely smart and capable people. Free meals at major offices. Everyone works hard. CEO and senior leadership are deeply and passionately committed to the company and to a degree their employees.

Cons

Management strategy keeps evolving. Painful layoffs of valuable personnel. Challenges communicating value in marketplace - who is the right target customer? No life balance - if you are in, you are all in. Personnel have varying degrees of external experience and may not have had many years outside of DataRobot. The new leadership comes from a very different company, different products, and a different cultures. Adapting will be a big change. The company is so big it really does need to evolve beyond a startup.

Pros

- best AI and machine learning product on the market, and it's not particularly close - incredible colleagues - world-class professionals and people around the globe, across all departments - visionary data science and leadership - founder is a brilliant data scientist and the other data scientists on staff are all top tier - passionate loyal customers who absolutely love the product and the company

Cons

- some growing pains, as with any tech startup trying to scale and mature. Covid '19 didn't help -there is a tendency to overengineer processes, which is weirdly in contrast to other company principles to GSD. This is the single one thing that probably causes the most friction, especially among experienced talented workers
