Questionable management practices

Pros

Great benefits to full-time, good management depending on the division, opportunities to travel.

Cons

Completely against the use of technology. Using software or getting it updated is like pulling teeth. Extreme corporate policies that do nothing that slow down progress. Disregard for anyone unless a builder. My personal manager was all about weekly goals and expectations, every week. Actually typing them out. Horrible micromanagement, inability to allow any sort of personal or career growth. I was given the impression I would be allowed to perform my job in a way that best suits me, then reprimanded for not following exactly what the manager dictated. Unrealistic expectations, and punishment for not meeting them.

Pros

They had good training. It has helped me to excel with another builder.

Cons

Don't provide enough inventory to most sales people. Micromanage and brow beat employees. Overwork employees, even on days off. Tout as best place to work. This was the worse job I have ever had!

Pros

Front line management is very in touch with employee needs and development. DWH offers flexibility in career path to promote quality retention.

Cons

Middle management appears terrified of upper management scrutiny which leads to micromanagement at division level. This could be isolated to individual divisions due to unique personalities of division leadership. Exceptional benefits are diluted by low pay with so much emphasis placed on already solid to high profit margins which will eventually lead to reduced retention rates.
