Pros

Great discount You get to work with a good group of people You can learn a lot on your first year with the company.

Cons

No clear career path They don't invest much in the future of there employees You interview and get hired for one position and can be doing something different within the next 2 to 3 months based on what rhe company thinks is best for them; your best interest isn't considered. Some people get promoted every year while those who work under them and help them look good just get a thanks and a smile.

Pros

Discount, Summer Fridays, Juice Bar...

Cons

The culture at DY is one of the worst I've ever seen, even for the fashion/jewelry industry. The family puts a lot of pressure on the employees and they are very far removed from reality. They change their minds/direction easily 15 times a day and don't realize all the work that actually goes into each change. With the exception of a very few people, upper management doesn't do much, besides long lunches and chatting most of the day in their office. They do somehow manage to keep their egos inflated. Some have earned their positions but it's clear that if you've managed to stay at the company for a long time and the Yurman's like you, you will get rewarded, even if you don't do any work. There's a lot of cliques and for the most part people are not friendly. There's no on boarding process and no one wants to be bothered with helping you out. Yet, they will get mad at you for not automatically knowing what to do or if you don't do their job. Also, they are infamous for hiring you for one job and then changing it when you start..then all of a sudden you are a personal assistant. I'm sure, at least hope, that some departments are better than others..but I have never encountered one.
