Pros

Free lunch on Fridays and nice office space

Cons

- Technology is incredibly dated. You'll be working on products you hate because it's such a disastrous web of junk. - Red tape prevents you from shipping new releases quickly. - Leadership changes in the past couple of years changed the momentum that once existed. Current leadership is hugely dysfunctional at best. - Salaries are not competitive. The only way to make more money is to threaten to leave or leave and come back.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate all feedback, because without these viewpoints and suggestions, we can't improve. I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience during your time at Daxko. I want to address your comments regarding the technology we work with, because what you mentioned simply isn’t the case. Our flagship product is a ‘legacy’ system with a legacy code, but none of our products are hindered by old technology. We have made huge strides in the past few years in modernizing the application by addressing technical debt and embracing new technologies. When we visit a part of our codebase and find room for improvement, we choose to leverage newer technology to stay current. We write new features for this product using up-to-date MVC patterns, modern JavaScript libraries, and various APIs and services. Simply stated, no company that has been in the industry for over 15 years has every product it owns written with the latest technology, but whenever we find opportunities to modernize, we do so. Our other, newer products are built using advanced technology and innovative software architecture. Regarding your comments about our releases, we believe we have a modern release process that is healthy, advanced, and consistent (usually scheduling one planned release every two weeks). Because we are a PCI compliant company, we must be careful to ensure release quality. We appreciate your feedback on salaries as well. We continually stay up-to-date on market data to remain competitive with our pay and benefits package. Hope this helps clarify some questions you raised. Best of luck with what you are pursuing now!

Great place/people/work; fast pace

Pros

Great work, fun and interesting environment, with smart and helpful co-workers. The company is very forward thinking and puts company culture at the top of its priorities. While customers are of the utmost importance (as they should be), the team members are not just a side thought like in many other places. People here work hard and help each other to accomplish goals too. It is busy and the work is challenging, so it is balanced by making the place and culture fun and engaging. It is as transparent of a company as I have ever worked for and upper management works hard to keep it that way so we all know what is going on and can make good decisions in our roles.

Cons

It is very fast paced and you need to love change to work here. Don't expect to sit back and relax, as there is always something new coming up with quick deadlines. If you bore easy, though, this is a great place to keep you active and engaged. You must be able to work and focus in a very open work environment. There are places to "be alone" but most of the time you will work in one open space with your team so it may take some getting used to. Can't beat that for teamwork, though!

Thanks so much for your review! Daxko's lifeline is most certainly its hardworking team members, and those team members are the heart of our culture. A fast-paced environment is definitely not unmanageable when you have helpful coworkers! -Janna

Great, ok, and terrible

Pros

The CEO, Marketing VP, COO, CFO and a few other senior management staff are great. Benefits are great. Casual dress, free lunch once a ,week. Pay is acceptable for the market.

Cons

The sales leadership is terrible and don't let the charade fool you. They care absolutely nothing about you, only the quota (which they control) by giving territory to those they like. Across the company, if you don't know someone or part of the in crowd, good luck advancing. In fact, they have proven with multiple employees that they will make your job miserable until you quit, or can't meet the standards where they can fire you.. Free lunch once a week is really just a way to keep you in the office, so you'll eat while you work or eat quickly and go back to work as an fyi. They advertise it as a fun place to work with scooters and a game room, but in reality they are greatly understaffed, so no one has time for that....ever... Software team: 7/10 Implementation team is led well: 8/10 Support: no one knows what they are doing and just ask old timers how to fix anything beyond a password reset. 6/10 Marketing: 9/10 People team : 7/10 Finance: 8/10 Sales team: several great employees, and some that senior leadership gave a job from their previous stops.
