Pros

Free lunch on Fridays and nice office space

Cons

- Technology is incredibly dated. You'll be working on products you hate because it's such a disastrous web of junk. - Red tape prevents you from shipping new releases quickly. - Leadership changes in the past couple of years changed the momentum that once existed. Current leadership is hugely dysfunctional at best. - Salaries are not competitive. The only way to make more money is to threaten to leave or leave and come back.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate all feedback, because without these viewpoints and suggestions, we can't improve. I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience during your time at Daxko. I want to address your comments regarding the technology we work with, because what you mentioned simply isn’t the case. Our flagship product is a ‘legacy’ system with a legacy code, but none of our products are hindered by old technology. We have made huge strides in the past few years in modernizing the application by addressing technical debt and embracing new technologies. When we visit a part of our codebase and find room for improvement, we choose to leverage newer technology to stay current. We write new features for this product using up-to-date MVC patterns, modern JavaScript libraries, and various APIs and services. Simply stated, no company that has been in the industry for over 15 years has every product it owns written with the latest technology, but whenever we find opportunities to modernize, we do so. Our other, newer products are built using advanced technology and innovative software architecture. Regarding your comments about our releases, we believe we have a modern release process that is healthy, advanced, and consistent (usually scheduling one planned release every two weeks). Because we are a PCI compliant company, we must be careful to ensure release quality. We appreciate your feedback on salaries as well. We continually stay up-to-date on market data to remain competitive with our pay and benefits package. Hope this helps clarify some questions you raised. Best of luck with what you are pursuing now!

Warning Daxko is like a CULT

Pros

Free Drinks and Free Friday Lunch.

Cons

This place seems like a full blown cult. They worship Patrick Lencioni and every meeting has to mention patrick at least 100 times. To admire is one thing, but to be obsessed is questionable. Everyone is happy ALL the time despite most of them working until 11 at night and never having time to do actual work (this is from employees themselves). Yes, I understand being happy, but ALL the time? When you're stressed out and working 16 hours days?! When you have one pointless meeting after another? I find that so hard to believe. Some of the happiness is to a point of exhaustion. oh man. They are so eager to scream for the Daxko Nation. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your organization, but come on it is excessive. Despite the cult like and fake atmosphere they do not allow you to work from home. Why? Because they want everyone together all the time for no reason what so ever. Imagine how working from home can benefit everyone! Less driving and stress on your vehicle. Saving a ton of money on those free drinks. Happier employees. Lower Overhead cost! The list goes on and on. Just be aware of this as well. They preach "hiring slow and firing fast" that is the truth. They fire so fast that you have to pick up the slack causing there to be more on your plate. Beware!

Hey! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review - honest feedback like this is always welcome because it helps us grow as an organization. Our entire People Team reads all reviews, as does our CEO. We take them seriously. I'd like to respond specifically to one point you mentioned about working from home: we leave it up to team leads to lay out guidelines for their individual teams on working from home, as some roles may require more time in the office. We do have a number of remote team members, as well as many team members who work from home as needed. You also mentioned seeing team members happy all the time - we don't see this as a bad thing! I think this shows that although we work hard, many of us are glad to be here and contributing our talents to Daxko's mission. Again, thanks for leaving this review. If you ever want to share more feedback, you can reach out to me personally. I am always glad to listen. -Janna
