Pros

There is schedule flexibility for appointments/family emergencies.

Cons

Team leads are on average two years older/younger than you, and do not have the experience needed to serve a leadership position. The overall culture encourages immature behavior in the workplace. People get caught up in the politics often, causing a tense and negative work environment. Most will combat the comments on the immaturity of it all, by saying Daxko is a great stepping stone for your career. No, I absolutely disagree. I would not recommend this company to any young professionals out there; get your experience elsewhere. After all the hype and everything I head about Daxko, I am so disappointed. These two years were the biggest regret of my entire career.

Hi there - thank you so much for this honest review. I'm sorry you didn't have a great experience during your time at Daxko. I did want to address your comment about team leads: while we do have several young team leads here, we provide many opportunities for leadership development that are required for anyone in a leadership position. An important piece of our mission is to help provide rewarding careers to our team members, and I'm sorry you didn't feel you received this. If there is anything else specific you'd like to let me know, please feel free to reach out to me personally. Best of luck in the future! -Janna

Pros

The casual work environment is nice, as are the free soft drinks, and a catered lunch from an area resturaunt weekly (Jim and Nicks, Taco Mama, etc.). For the most part people are quite approachable with any problem you're trying to solve, there aren't any offices here so you can walk up and high-five the CEO if you like! There's also professional development budget offered here which I was truly grateful to have to help pay for college textbooks, IT certification exams, developers conferences, etc.

Cons

To be blunt, it wasn't a good start to my career. Starting with the compensation, down to shuffling of leadership. I feel the performance expectations here were far too high given how little I was paid. My argument for a higher yet still lower salary than that of my peers often fell on deaf ears. I think another thing in general that stuck out was a clique-y atmosphere, which was more prevalent with certain teams, this was from a diverse age range so it's not limited to the younger crowd. Results may vary, but in my experience here it's not one I can particularly recommend.

I really appreciate your thorough review. I'm glad you were able to utilize your professional development budget, and I hope you've been able to put what you learned to use in your current endeavors. Compensation is something we continually evaluate, and we're taking your input seriously. And thanks for your suggestion about deeper training on our flagship product - I agree that this is very important! -Janna

Pros

The CEO provides numerous ways to ask questions and give feedback. He makes an effort to get to know team members, cares about the company culture, and wants team members to have a rewarding career while providing our customers with the tools and service that they need. That’s all balanced with high expectations from team members, and plenty of work to keep you busy. If you are willing to put in the work, remain flexible, and speak up, there are a lot of opportunities to advance your career at this growing company. Also worth mentioning: the benefits are outstanding. Paid time off, generous health benefits, 401k matching, professional development allowance, four week sabbatical after seven years, plenty of free food and drink, and fun activities periodically throughout the year! Overall, it’s a fun atmosphere, and you’re likely to not only make professional connections at Daxko, but probably friends, too.

Cons

Sometimes it is hard to keep up with not only your workload, but what’s going on. There’s a lot of growth happening at Daxko, and it’s easy to feel lost and unsure amidst all of the change.
