Great Strategic Direction but Requires better Execution.

Pros

You work with some very dedicated and intellectual individuals. Pay and benefits are well in line with position and responsibilities.

Cons

Work Life balance is an issue that management has trouble addressing. Support resource bandwidth is low so getting tasks accomplished is difficult. Technology is outdated.

Pros

Possibility to work from home depending on one's group Decent time off policy - if you can manage to actually take it. Pay is 'ok', but salary increases are negligible for the rank and file, or nonexistent entirely. Casual dress, etc. No suits/ties. Super colleagues (in my case) with an 'all for one, and one for all' attitude. The best team I've ever worked with.

Cons

The owners of the company, a private equity firm, are forcing dramatic cutbacks and cost wavings everywhere. Ceridian is not a company in which one can feel secure in one's career. The amount of work thrown at us is increasing faster than we can handle, and this is true everywhere. People are burned out and it's not getting better. We can expect more layoffs and cost cutting in the near future. I feel strongly that the company is being positioned for a sale. This company is a goldmine for any consultants selling the latest management or process improvement mumbo jumbo. Executive Management seems to follow the philosophy of Dilbert's firm. The local management is very good, but it's the top level executives who came from outside and don't have a clue about this business that are ruining things.
