Cafeteria food was inexpensive

Cons

The units are not staffed appropriately. There are lots of things to be completed all at the same time which is virtually impossible with only two RNs on a unit.

The patients, it's rewarding to help them. Your bottom level coworkers for the most part are great

Cons

Have to constantly play games to not get fired if you have any complaints, retaliation is strong, no positive feedback except to favorites, extreme favoritism, poor structure, poor organization, terrible unprofessional management

Pros

Great co-workers, plenty of hours, great way to get experience. You can ask for first cancel if census is low.

Cons

Very high stress. Hostile and entitled patients. Higher ups don’t know anything about the floor staffs needs so they increase breakfast/lunch/dinner cost for staff, increases medical deductions. Staffing needs falls on deaf ears. 40 acute patients for only 4 “floor” staff is very stressful to keep track of them all.
