Pros
I have many years working at the Delek Corporate office out of Brentwood, TN. Below are the top of mind reasons I love working here. For me, the #1 thing that I love about the company is my boss and my team members. Outside of my department, there are a great many managers and directors who care deeply about their team members and come to work daily with a smile on their face and enjoy their jobs as well. It is wonderful to get to work with so many bright, hardworking individuals. Additionally, a couple of years ago, the company changed their pay structure to be much more competitive with the overall market. Using an online salary guide as a guideline, my total compensation is currently between the 1st and 2nd quartile for my position, depending on bonus payout. There is potential to actually get higher than midpoint if the bonus pays out super high, but I haven't ever earned that much. Speaking of which, bonus payouts, not counting the 2020-21 Covid debacle, historically were better than 100% payout. I usually count on 1.35x multiplier, but have seen as high at 1.7x multipliers. Stock compensation gets better the higher your role is in the company. Lastly, we have table tennis, foosball, pool, and putt putt for recreation, which is pretty sweet and helps make it feel more like a community and less like an office.
Cons
There is a requirement to be in office 3 days a week. It doesn't bother me, but it's not 100% remote if that what you're looking for. Even though it's a high revenue company, the industry is very lean and operates off of thin margins. This, plus the fact that oil and gas is very cyclical, can make it hard during lean times to get the resources needed to fulfill your team's responsibilities. However, that's really the industry that operates that way, not necessarily just Delek.
