By the time your a CMT you should have experienced all the downsides of nursing already. Delmar isn't any different than other homes. Its just bigger and cleaner. The facility isn't necessarily the issue its the system as a whole and the people you care for. - Health dental and eye insurance. Health insurance is very expensive compared to what it offers 350 dollars for a ER visit plus whatever the insurance company can weasel its way out of paying for.
Dental and eye is ok and pretty cheap.
-I'm not sure if this is still a thing but they had a deal with golds gym for a 10 dollar a pay period membership. Golds closes after evening shift gets out so its a bad option for anyone who works evenings.
-They also used to have staff meals twice a week. When I left they weren't very good any more.
-Tuition reimbursement. After you do this they own you for 2 years and they treat you as such.
-Unlimited hours. They'll let you work until the state intervenes. Then pay you under the table. Keep in mind that is done because of continuous staffing issues.
Every position works short . But is expected to have assistance with most tasks. Your so short it almost never happens though so you have to hide what your doing from admin. Admin is well aware of this and only really enforces it when it needs to make a show of strength, to appease a angry family or state.
