Pros

Truly dedicated staff. Willing to work ridiculous hours to help scholars in any way they can.

Cons

Good ol' boys club. No one listens to the concerns of anyone besides school leaders. Good luck getting any support from HR if you have any issues. Culture of intimidation and harassment and though they will sell you the dream of being supportive they do not want to hear anything contrary to what their beliefs are. No training, told that you're incompetent if you ask for help, nothing you do is good enough or right.... unless they like you and you're friends outside of work. Do yourself a favor and don't believe the hype. Creating a penitentiary setting within the walls of a school only breeds a different type of inmate....

High Teacher Attrition

Pros

They have a ton of professional development opportunities. Students have the opportunity to study abroad. They attempt at building solidarity among staff between all of their campuses. They give out teacher appreciation gifts like sneakers, shirts, etc...which is thoughtful but I found it just another way for staff to advertise the school. They equip all teachers with cell phones and laptops.

Cons

They mostly higher fresh out of college, young, staff. They quickly burn them out of whatever energy they have for 2 years and start the hiring process all over again. If you have a family and kids, this is not the place for you. 10-hr days, maternity leave starts off at 3 weeks (which I think is appalling) and mandatory Saturday hours. In my opinion, I believe they overuse the deduction system they have in place to keep kids in line. Kids who already pose challenges don't take it seriously anyway.
