Pros

Great group of people to work with, team environment, and work hard/play hard attitude. Good compensation salary wise with great bonus opportunities.

Cons

I really enjoy traveling to new client facilities and seeing how things are made, learning new technologies, but some of the projects do require extensive onsite and start-up time to complete your scope of work. This is the case for most large engineering firms.

Pros

Projects were very interesting. The rate of learning was unequalled. Compensation was more than fair. It was a stable company in a solid industry less effected by the economic swings. Management trusted in its staff. Co-workers were all willing to assist. Office located within a unique historic building. There were opportunities to work all over the country and world. If the opportunity ever were to present itself, I would jump at the opportunity to work for the Dennis Group again.

Cons

I guess I would suggest a more organized training program for new employees. While anyone can find fault an any group or organization, my experience was nothing but positive. My reason for leaving was personal and had nothing to do with the company. In fact, The Dennis Group tried to make concessions that would help with my situation.

Not a bad place

Pros

For the most part the culture of the company is a "family", sometimes dysfunctional, but, for a company of the size, it still has something of a family feel. I suppose it can be difficult for newbies, particularly those without previous experience, to find their place in the family. In-laws? Long-lost cousins?

Cons

Did I mention dysfunctional? There is somewhat of a lack of structure and leadership. This isn't a complete negative, though. People are expected to manage themselves and behave as adults without having to be micromanaged. As the company grows larger, this has become more of a problem that needs to be addressed.
