Favoritism

Pros

The benefits are pretty good. Health care is provided for free, but if you need to include a dependent then the cost is extremely exorbitant. There is a 401k match. Thursdays are snack days. Each department will now and then have food to share with others. There's a quarterly and monthly employee recognition.

Cons

There is a lot of nepotism and favoritism being its a small company owned privately. Even if you work very hard, family members and close friends will get the recognition and overshadow you. The technology here is very old. Our CRM is not very sophisticated. The conference rooms have Dell laptops from like 2002. Some managers here are unqualified for their role and most likely got it through brown-nosing. Changes happen very slow. Our website is very difficult to use and understand for most of these dental practice staff. The billing system is completely dysfunctional allowing clients to use and get away with not paying for services. Departments don't communicate well with each other.

Pros

Snack day, leave early before holidays.

Cons

Lots of nepotism in the office. Like other reviews have stated if you know someone you're much more likely to get a promotion. All friends and family are paid and treated above other individuals in the office and the company is very unfair. Positions will often be filled by these individuals or a new one brought in from the outside with no opportunity for the rest of the staff. HR does nothing to help when you're having an issue, it appears she doesn't want to deal with things that involve others (especially if its one of her friends).

Unprofessional

Pros

It's a small company where everyone knows each other. They allow time off when needed and celebrate special employee achievements and birthdays. They are not very strict on time and the young employees provide a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Cons

There are not many growth opportunities and they don't value a college degree. There is not much professionalism in the company and there are too many positions filled because of "favoritism" reasons. Training is really unorganized, over time will not be paid and expect the commission structure to be changed once you start making high commissions. There is no company pride and many employees complain about working here.
