Pros

The pay is the number one reason I like this company. My coworkers are also an integral part of it, they try to match personalities. Working with the customer and feel a bond is made.

Cons

Work and life balance. It is retail so plan on every weekend and most hollidays. The managers are really not in charge, they cant even hire and fire, they are just puppets for the Regional Manager and the Corporate leaders. Oh by the way a "pizza lunch is not a perk, it is a slap in the face"

First I would like to thank you for your 4 stars and your review. We have a lot to cover so I will do the best I can to address each item here so that others can see the answers. Also you always have the option to call me to discuss any of these items further...303-566-8175. You are correct about work life balance in retail, because the benefit you like the most "pay" is affected by when the customers come to the store. However when worked properly, there are a lot of advantages to your schedule which includes 2 1/2 days in a row off, opportunities for early-outs on weekends based on contests, and shorter lines at restaurants and other events around town on the days that you are off. That is just a few of many benefits that I can come up with based on the retail schedule. The store manager manages the sales and operations of the stores. They conduct interviews ultimately determining who is hired. They work in conjunction with the regional managers to determine when disciplinary action is necessary up to or including terminations. The manager has many other tasks and responsibilities that require their time and having the regionals do hiring with their extensive training in that area allows us to hire the people best for the culture of our company. As you put it, to "match personalities". As far as pizza parties being a " slap in the face", I'm not sure how to reply to that but would hope you could call and explain further. I feel that taking away a free lunch perk would upset a lot of team members. As far as missing out on talent that we take too long to interview...again perhaps a phone call could clear up some questions for me. But just so you are aware we have the option for doing Zoom interviews. So if this is not occurring please reach out by phone and let's discuss it further. Lastly but certainly not least I would like to discuss the bonus programs for the managers. Due to the fact that a manager not only makes their own sales but also must motivate all the other staff to do the same, they receive bonuses that other don't receive when they are successful in that area of their job. Managers are required to do more work and are compensated more for that work. We compensate all of our staff handsomely for the work that they do and the manager's bonuses are meant to give sales staff and assistant managers even more incentive to promote so that they too can receive these bonuses. Most importantly I would like to point out that we have a benefit of only promoting from within the company. If everyone in the store was paid the same then we would never be able to promote from within because there would not be enough incentive for some staff that are content in their position or with their pay. Keep in mind with us or any company the higher you move up in the company the higher the pay compensation is including bonuses. This is actually a benefit and a reward for your success. I hope this answers all your questions but if not I would encourage you to reach out on the phone to discuss further. Again thank you for your input!

Pros

Denver Mattress is the greatest company I’ve ever worked for. The managerial staff, the warehouse employees, and the people at Furniture Row that I worked with were all extremely pleasant and respectful. I enjoyed the job immensely, with the only reason I left being a job with better pay. The commission is fair, and you supported by a base pay should you not have a great week in commission. The training is very hands on, but also has you ready to go by the time you hit the floor, while being compensated well in the meantime. Definitely a company I would recommend working for, for both people already in sales and those trying to get into sales.

Cons

The only true con is that you have to learn to budget appropriately. Much of the pay is commission, so some weeks are better than others. With any job that you make a lot off commission, you have to learn to budget.

Pros

Denver Mattress gave me an opportunity when others wouldn’t. When all I needed was a chance, they saw the value in me as a person, provided me with great training, and surrounded me with some of the best people that I have worked with and that I have ever known. We only promote from within so we are constantly training the future leaders of our company and investing in our people. Denver Mattress has changed my life in many positive ways and provided a fulfilling career that makes is a joy to go to work everyday!

Cons

It’s a retail schedule so weekends and holidays are full staff days (but we are closed Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas)
