Pros
Working closely with providers Patient care and some hands-on experience Using an EMR to document patient care Office design is great
Cons
Toxic workplace with mean girls, groupthink, exclusion, and even withholding pertinent information Management not very helpful and were former medical assistants, lack managing experience. There needs to be checks-and-balances to keep them accountable Looking at a computer screen majority of the 12-hour shift, easy to feel burnout Majority of employees are in their 20s or 30s, so there is a lack of solid experience, knowledge, diversity, and even maturity, compared to employees at a hospital/larger organization Only one 30-minute break in a 12-hour shift. Should have another 20-minute break in the second half of the shift Can be hectic if there are ~50 patients seen per day, high workload demand Should have better pay for a high workload High turnover rate
