Pros

Good benefits, interesting technology, a few good people

Cons

Ethics are basically non-existent, many people are fired over a 5 minute zoom with zero warning or history or poor performance. Constant turnover at the executive level. Transformation in 2023 was a complete disaster, VERY few sales reps made their number and direction from leadership was constantly changing. Commission payouts were super sketchy with territories always changing. The product teams announce releases that are not fully baked. Many deals lost in late stages due to previously unknown technical gaps in the product. Compensation is on the lower end. Dozens of reps are hired and then fired within months which is in indication of poor hiring practices. Decisions are made based on the bottom line and zero consideration for the employees and their families is afforded.

Dear former DigiCert employee, Thank you for taking the time and providing a review on Glassdoor. While we appreciate the recognition of the benefits, technology, and people at DigiCert, we recognize your list of negatives was extensive. In 2023 DigiCert went through a transformation year, and change is often hard and uncomfortable. But DigiCert, its leaders and employees are quickly finding our footing in this new structure. Major changes include making choices about people, which is always difficult, but we do our best to be thoughtful and not make emotional decisions. And we will always be honest with people on why decisions are made. We hope that, overall, your experience at DigiCert was positive, and we invite you to share any additional feedback you may have with a member of the DigiCert People Team. We would be more than happy to speak with you. Regards, DigiCert People Team

Salary & Duties

Pros

Permanent contracts Nice co workers

Cons

Underpaid, average pay is about 20k rand ( 1000 dollars per month ) this is without tax deductions. An engineer gets about 25 - 28k rand ( 1400 dollars) per month without tax deductions. No travel allowance, and no 500-dollar vouchers for Christmas anymore since the new CEO only focuses on cost-cutting and filling his pockets, and probably sell the company at some point. Work is intense and constantly busy. The company does not sell or give old laptops even without hard drives to staff members instead give it to some organizations while we underpaid staff can barely afford a computer. The cost of living is extremely high in Cape Town and is only increasing. Nothing is almost done about salaries but we expected to live in Digicerts and grow the company. We can function remotely but we have to go to the office just to show our faces while we have Zoom if needed. Self-study, do not expect proper training. You need to pay 2000 rand ( 100 dollars) for medical aid from your pocket and it's mandatory besides 12000 rand rent ( 600 dollars) and food etc. unless you want to live unsafely and pay 6000 rand for rent.

Dear current DigiCert employee, We appreciate you taking the time to post your review on Glassdoor. It’s unfortunate that you do not see the six years you have spent as a technical engineer in Cape Town as positive. While you noted coworkers and permanent contracts as positives, you outlined several negatives that should be addressed. DigiCert works hard to ensure compensation and benefits meet or exceed markets. Our benefits include paying half of employees’ medical aid in South Africa, a data allowance, and several other things. Also, employees receive meals on the two days they are in office. Beyond that, we offer several different personal and professional development opportunities, including in-house courses and learnings through various platforms, as well as educational support for other formal studies. Some of the items you included cannot be addressed as they are factually inaccurate, but we would be happy to meet with you and review the vast array of things included in DigiCert’s Total Rewards package. Please reach out to a member of the People Team to assist you with that information. Regard, DigiCert People Team
